This
photograph demonstrated a Doctor of Chiropractic performing a
myofascial release technique. Myofascial release is a manual
therapy that may be included in chiropractic treatment to
relieve pain and restore function. Myo refers to muscle,
while the fascia is "fibrous tissue that envelops
the body beneath the skin; also encloses muscles and muscle
groups" (Webster's New World/Stedman's Concise Medical
Dictionary. Prentice Hall: New York, 1987). For more
information on this or any other chiropractic technique, please
ask your Doctor of Chiropractic.
