Honor Gift and Living Memorial Program For Every Season There Is a Purpose . . . A Time to Remember EVENTS OFTEN ARISE when we desire to do something to recognize the contributions others have made to enrich our lives. Such an event may be the passing of someone dear, or the retirement of a colleague, or the birth of a child. In any case, we want our recognition to reflect what these special individuals mean to us. We suggest that making a donation to FCER through the Honor Gift and Living Memorial Program may be the appropriate way to do just that.
Two important long-term things happen when you make such a donation. First, because you are a friend of chiropractic health care, it is important that you choose an appropriate vehicle for the funds you donate. When you give to FCER, you help promote chiropractic education and research which will ultimately benefit people for many years to come. Second, your gift becomes a lasting tribute with the planting of a tree in the Dr. Ralph Schmidt Memorial Forests in Oregon. It is truly fitting that such a tribute will live on to honor or memorialize someone who means so much to you. FCER has contracted with the family of Ralph Schmidt, D.C., to help support the reforestation of his beloved Oregon. Dr. Schmidt was a Trustee and former President of FCER — a true friend of chiropractic. He was also concerned about preserving the environment. Through state mandate, the trees in the Dr. Ralph Schmidt Memorial Forest can never be logged and will stand as an everlasting tribute of your gift. Occasions for Giving The occasions for giving a gift through the FCER Honor Gift and Living Memorial Program are many. You can select from those listed, or create a unique occasion as you desire. Here are some possible occasions:
Acknowledging Your Donation Upon receipt of your gift, FCER immediately will send a card to the person or family you designate, notifying them of your donation (without disclosing the amount), and that a tree will be planted. [Text of card] At the same time FCER will send an e-mail to you acknowledging your tax-deductible* gift. With your help and the help of thousands of like-minded people, the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research has been promoting research and education relative to chiropractic health care since 1944.
