Go to the Basic Search ScreenBASIC SEARCH

The Basic Search Screen only includes the option to locate articles by using keywords (MeSH terms or Medical Subject Headings) and/or searching for text strings within a title or abstract.

USE THE BASIC SEARCH IF YOU:

  ONLY need to enter a group of subject headings/subheadings to perform your search
  Want to browse the MANTIS™ Database and perform quick searches on single headings

Go to the Advanced Search ScreenADVANCED SEARCH

The Advanced Search Screen allows you locate articles by using keywords (MeSH terms or Medical Subject Headings) and/or searching for text strings within a title or abstract. You may also limit searches by an author's name, a journal's title, by discipline and by language while limiting the results to include articles that are refereed and are of high clinical relevancy.

USE THE ADVANCED SEARCH IF YOU:

  Want to search by a specific author
  Want to search by a specific journal
  Want to search for high clinical relevancy
  Want to search refereed journals only
  Want to search by language of journal

Go to the Graphic Search ScreenGRAPHIC SEARCH

The Graphic Search Screen was designed to give the user a simple interface to search the biomedical literature contained within the MANTIS™ Database. Using a web-based graphic, the user can mouse over various regions and respond to pop-up menus to explore conditions or information regarding that section of the image. No typing is necessary.

USE THE GRAPHIC SEARCH IF YOU:

  Are not familiar with headings/subheadings and wish to perform simple searches
  Wish to use a graphic interface to guide you in the search process and teach you the proper terms to use in searching the biomedical literature.
