FCER Brings “Translating Research Into Practice” Workshop to the TCC Campus Norwalk, Iowa—Health care delivery in the United States is increasingly becoming evidence based. Whether it is motivated by patients who are now able to research their conditions and the efficacy of various treatments online or by insurance companies that feel they can limit reimbursement for procedures believed to be lacking in evidence, the change is a legitimate issue for health care providers. Doctors must now be able to knowledgably answer to progressively more informed patients. Doctors must now be able to provide the documentation to third party payors to justify treatment plans. The Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER) “Translating Research Into Practice” Workshop provides attendees with the tools necessary to meet these challenges. The TRIP Workshop will be held January 26-27, 2007, on the campus of the Texas Chiropractic College in Pasadena, TX. The TRIP Workshop program is designed not as a series of lectures but rather a series of discussions between presenters and attendees. The 2007 program will open with a demonstration on the use of the MANTIS database. Not only will this provide attendees with valuable information that can immediately be used in practice, it will also provide a backdrop for the remainder of the program: as the applications for research are discussed, attendees will have a comfortable understanding of where the needed results can be found. The full 2007 TRIP program will include:
It is crucial that the clinician learn to find
and apply the research evidence to the various aspects of practice. It is
FCER’s goal to provide the tools and information necessary for the clinician
to make this transition. The Translating Research Into Practice Workshop
will allow the attending D.C. to make the application of research in
practice an everyday occurrence. Attendees will be able to find and apply
the research to support reimbursements, improve patient outcomes, and to
better communicate with patients and colleagues from other disciplines. |
