Major Publishers Partnering with FCER’s Learning Center Several major publishers are now working with the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER) to offer chiropractic-related books, publications and other products that can be ordered directly from them through FCER’s Learning Center at www.fcer.org. Purchasers often will find price breaks from these companies, and a portion of each sale, no matter what the product, will be returned to FCER. Publishers include Elsevier, which offers such books as Activator Methods Chiropractic Technique, by Arlan Fuhr, DC, and Basic and Clinical Anatomy of the Spine, Spinal Cord and ANS, by Gregory Cramer, DC, and Susan Darby, DC. Available from Jones and Bartlett are books including Conservative Management of Sports Injuries, Second Edition, by Thomas Hyde, DC, and Evidence-Based Chiropractic Practice, by Michael Haneline, DC.
Lippincott Williams and Wilkins
distributes items from Anatomical Chart Company such as the
Illustrated Pocket Anatomy: Vertebral Column and Spine Disorders
Study Guide, and A Concise Guide to Orthopaedic and Musculoskeletal
Impairment Ratings. “Through these partnerships, FCER is now your one-stop shop for most practice-related printed educational materials and other items,” Vincent P. Lucido, DC, FCER President, said. “Our members now have the convenience of ordering online directly from the publishers through FCER’s web site. Plus, with Amazon and the others, a vast array of products are available with a portion of each sale returning directly to FCER so it can carry on its mission.” FCER’s Learning Center was established to offer a wealth of educational material to the chiropractic clinician. Included in the center are teleconference opportunities, educational sessions available on demand, and both clinical and patient books, brochures and other education-related products and services.
FCER is the chiropractic profession’s
oldest not-for-profit foundation, serving the profession since 1944.
FCER, based in Norwalk, Iowa, has as its mission to “Translate
Research into Practice” by granting funds for research and producing
practitioner and patient education materials including
teleconferences, CDs, books and pamphlets. FCER is developing the
profession’s only Evidence-Based Chiropractic Resource Center. -30- |
