Earn CE Credits Now with FCER’s Online Seminars

Doctors of chiropractic in many states may now earn Continuing Education credits (CEs) by enrolling in several of the FCER Learning Center® web-based seminars offered by the Foundation for Chiropractic Education and Research (FCER). In most states where web-based educational sessions are approved for CEs, three of the Learning Center seminars are approved through Northwestern Health Sciences University.

The seminars are available online at FCER’s web site. At the site, select the Learning Center button, and then Course Descriptions and CE Credits for instructions on how to check whether the seminar has been approved for CEs in your state. The seminars cost $35 each including audio, and may be taken at your convenience. You may even start the seminar, log out and log back in another time to complete it. You do not have to be an FCER member to enroll.

“Now, doctors may enroll in seminars with topics very relevant to their practice, and earn continuing education credits at their convenience,” Vincent P. Lucido, DC, FCER President, said. “FCER is continually expanding its educational opportunities for the chiropractic clinician, helping to give them the expertise needed by today’s practitioner,” he added.

Seminars approved for credits (so far) are:

  • Surviving a Deposition, by Warren T. Jahn, DC. Information covers how to prepare for a deposition, how to document, and how to answer “trick” questions.

  • Accurate Clinical Documentation – Preventing Insurance Denials, by Charles R. Herring, DC. Information includes how to respond if claims are questioned and how to prevent this from happening.

  • Chiropractic Headache Management: Approaching a Mainstream Alternative, by Anthony L. Rosner, PhD. The seminar highlights optimum treatments for headaches, development of systematic reviews of the literature, and management of headaches in children.

Other online seminars offered through the FCER Learning Center are:

  • Comparison Shopping: Costs of Chiropractic vs. Medical Treatment

  • Back to the Future – New Dimensions of Back Pain Research

  • Nonmusculoskeletal and Physiological Responses to Spinal Manipulation,

  • and, Pathology, Diagnosis and Treatment of Lumbar Radiculopathy

Applications for CE credits have been submitted for these courses, as well as for courses to be added.

The FCER Learning Center offers an array of clinical educational opportunities such as teleconferences, CDs, web-based seminars, a bookstore and more.

FCER is the chiropractic profession’s oldest not-for-profit foundation, serving the profession since 1944. It is based in Norwalk, Iowa, and has as its mission to “Translate Research into Practice” by granting funds for research and producing practitioner and patient educational materials including teleconferences, CDs, books, and pamphlets. FCER is developing the profession’s only Evidence-Based Resource Center.
